Topic:  Helping Children Develop A Growth Mindset

Scientists have recently discovered that individuals have more capacity for brain development than they ever thought was possible.  This new research around mindset explains why some children achieve far more than we could have imagined and why others consistently fail to perform to their full potential.  In this workshop, parents will develop an understanding of mindset and how it affects all areas of life from personal relationships to academic achievement.  Participants will learn effective strategies for helping children develop a growth mindset;which will dramatically influence their motivation, effort, self-esteem and success in their endeavors.

About Teresa:

Teresa Zucchet comes from a long background in education and counseling.  She began her career as an elementary school teacher and later worked as both an elementary and middle school counselor.  She went on to teach graduate counseling courses at the University of San Diego, write a column for a women’s health and wellness newsletter, consult for an educational research firm and provide staff trainings for public and private schools.  Teresa currently works with individual clients and provides parenting classes and professional development on a wide variety of topics for organizations throughout San Diego.  She has the joy of being the mom of Carter, a spirited and fun-loving eight year old and Molly, a thoughtful and deeply compassionate eleven year old.  She holds a Masters in Counseling, Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and is a certified Martha Beck Life Coach.
