Patio Teacher

Sophie grew up in Belgium, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in education and languages and began her career as a middle school teacher. In 2009 she and her husband moved to San Diego, and she became a French tutor. As one of the first Tinkergarten leaders in town, she facilitated local nature classes for children 18 months to 8 years old until 2020. One of her sons also attended LJUMCNS. After working as a garden teacher for a year, she is excited to be joining as the Patio teacher. In her free time, she likes to play music, do yoga, hike and go camping with her family.
