WOW! Lego Engineering with Mr. Richard

Mr. Richard helps children enhance knowledge of key STEM concepts (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) using our unique “Think, Build, Review” process. Every class their Lego friends, Sam and Sara, get stuck in some sort of sticky situation and need our little engineers to build them something to help them get out of it. Students use our Lego Duplo bricks with special moving pieces like gears, cams, and pulleys to create elaborate projects that they get to customize and make their own. They learn to be creative problem solvers and master builders while practicing valuable skills like teamwork, focus, and trial-and-error testing.

Yoga with Roberta

Children get enormous benefits from yoga. Physically, it enhances their flexibility, strength, coordination, and body awareness. In addition, their concentration and sense of calmness and relaxation improves. Doing yoga, children exercise, play, connect more deeply with the inner self, and develop an intimate relationship with the natural world that surrounds them. Yoga brings that beautiful inner light that all children have to the surface. In my yoga class children will “travel to different places,” play games, practice self-love, and learn the postures in a creative and fun way.

Eat Your Veggies! Cooking with Julie.

Learning about food is a life changing adventure! Children often eat only the foods that they know. When they see, experience, and prepare new foods they often enjoy the taste. Eat Your Veggies offers a fun way for children (of all ages!) to experiment with new and sometimes unusual ingredients. The children will cook real food using fresh ingredients with much of the produce obtained from local farms. Children will learn in small groups and practice basic cooking skills such as cutting (with safety knives), measuring, mixing, and following recipes. Each child will receive a copy of the recipe of the day to decorate and put in their recipe book to take home. We read a food related story and of course they get to eat their creations each week!

Clay Munchkins with Amy Mayfield

San Diego based Clay Munchkins’ objective is to guide children in the “hands-on” approach to create whimsical zoomorphic creatures out of natural clay. Students explore different techniques such as pinch, coil and slab-building with non-toxic lead free glazes. All of the work is fired in a kiln twice. Projects include animals from ants to zebras to bears to dinosaurs and every creature in between. Clay classes help build self-esteem and push your child’s imagination. They benefit the emotional, creative, intellectual and physical development of young children. The ceramic keepsakes are treasures for years to come and are great presents for the holidays.

Spanish for Preschoolers with Viviana

Preschool is the perfect age to learn a second language. As you know, young children have powerful imaginations. They love stories, plays, songs and the best way to teach should always match the way they learn.  We’ll have fun learning Spanish in a way the comes natural to them, with fun stories, songs and games. Your children will learn while having fun.

Nature Walk with Nicole & Viviana

Come meet us for a early hike around our beautiful surroundings with Studio teachers Nicole and Viviana. Children will explore the bike path, hike the trails, play games in the park and learn about our local flora and fauna. “Because children are healthier, happier and smarter when they learn in nature and play outdoors”

Music and Movement with Teacher Mary

Kids will have fun while learning a combination of dance, aerobics, ninja moves, games, singing & more!
Learning through Music: Using instruments, rhythm sequences, scarves, wands & fun props to practice coordination, following directions, language development, and learning through play, cooperation, making friends & simply having fun by releasing positive energy!
